Given that globally transportation makes up nearly 30% of the world’s total energy use, travellers around the world are looking to reduce their impact on the environment. Today, a new range of cleaner energies are starting to be available to consumers, and our job was to prove that we can still explore the world while we reduce our carbon footprints.
The Great Travel Hack is a global web series available on YouTube and Amazon Prime, with 2 seasons of 5 episodes each. The campaign looks to draw on the universal passion points of travel and follows two teams of digital content creators as they battle it out on an epic journey from Los Angeles to New York City and from London to Istanbul.
We reached +55M views on season 1 and +80M on season 2, becoming the most successful branded content that the Shell has ever made.
Buckle up for a road trip challenge that shows cleaner ways to travel. Two teams compete to cross the US and Europe using lower-carbon technology with only one rule: lowest co2 emissions wins. This is The Great Travel Hack.

Hosted by The Big Bang Theory Star - Kaley Cuoco, the first season followed two teams of content creators in their epic journey from Los Angeles to New York City.

The second season of The Great Travel Hack in Europe. This time, hosted by the Radio One DJ - Greg James and with two teams of celebrities - one British and one Dutch - competing against each other on an extraordinary race from London to Istanbul. With more tension, more vehicles and more action.
